Producer/Host
WisconsinEye seeks highly motivated, experienced individual as full-time host/producer for nonprofit multimedia public affairs network based in Madison. Available to start 7AM daily, with possible evenings, weekends and other non-traditional hours.
WisconsinEye presents independent statewide view of public policy discussion and civic and cultural activities on cable and Internet, beginning with nonpartisan, gavel-to-gavel coverage of state government in Madison.
Responsibilities:
• Produce and serve as on-camera host for daily morning one-hour live news and public affairs program
• Produce other regular series programming from studio and field
• Generate story ideas related to Wisconsin state government, public policy, business & industry, and civic life throughout the state
• Pre-produce, book guests, and host in-studio interviews and field productions
• Work with other WisconsinEye personnel to plan and implement program ideas
• Employ production values consistent with WisconsinEye mission
• Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
• Experience with broadcast production operations a must; daily broadcast programming production experience preferred
• On-air experience a plus
• Sound journalistic judgment
• Experience in independent, nonpartisan coverage of government, business and politics
• Familiarity with public affairs and business in Wisconsin
• Ability to work independently, handle multiple projects and schedules
• Strong interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
